The ultimate summer album of 2012 is Some Nights by Fun. Seriously guys, this album is pretty fantastic. There’s a wide array of instruments used on the tracks and each song has an Irish vibe to it. This is the perfect album to drive around with your windows down on a summer night. The lyrics to their songs have substance. I’m sick of all the bullshit lyrics these days. Give this song a listen! It’s called It Gets Better by Fun. It won’t disappoint!
Wow, it’s been forever since i’ve been on here. Time flies when you’re having fun I guess. My summer became super busy and I saw little use for the internet. HOWEVER, I definitely still kept up on the music scene. I saw many concerts this summer. First, some background. Small confession: I love Britney Spears. I know this takes away any credibility i could possibly possess, but i’ve loved her since I was a kid and that’s not changing now. So I saw Britney Spears and Nikki Minaj in Cleveland. Britney was typical and Nikki was awesome. She killed it. The very next day I went to a Death Cab for Cutie concert (total change-up, i know). They were phenomenal. I was blown away. Definitely a band to put on your must-see list. The next week I saw Parachute, Michelle Branch and the headliner: Goo Goo Dolls. Parachute was better than expected, Branch is awful live and the Goo Goo Dolls are classic. I enjoyed myself at that concert. And finally, I fulfilled a life-long goal and saw INCUBUS. They were absolutely, positively electrifying. They hadn’t toured to Ohio in a while to the crowd was enthralled. It was easily the best crowd and concert i’ve ever experienced. Glad to be back. Hope more people read!
Soooo I know that everyone has been talking about Adele lately and instead of refuting that, i’m just going to jump on the band wagon. Not only is her new album 21 amazing, 19 is just as fantastic. I love each album equally and I truly suggest everyone to listen to her. Set Fire to the Rain off of 21 is my current obsession.
P.S. Was anyone else shocked to find out that Adele is white? lol. Not to be racist, but she totally sounds like a soulful black woman on her albums lol. Who knew?!
Okay, so in the very beginning of this blog, I said that one of my favorite bands of all time was Incubus. TODAY for the first time in FIVE years, they came out with a new single! It’s called ‘Adolescents’. Supposedly the band is reappearing with a “new sound,” however, their new single sounds like the good old Incubus. I love it. I’ll post a link with the new single since it’s not on iTunes yet. Can’t wait for their new album!
I’m stressed out, sick of people and I’m ready for a change of pace. NeedtoBreathe has been a great band to fix a lot of this. They have an alternative rock sound and a Christian hint in the lyrics. Most of the time, I dont like Christian bands but NeedtoBreathe doesn’t sound like the typical happy clapper Christian band. Its good music to listen to. The outsiders is my favorite album of theirs and Something Beautiful is my favorite song off of that album. I suggest everyone to take a listen!
